Inscape House School is a non-maintained ASC specialist day school for children and young people aged 5 to 19 years. It is part of the Together Trust, a charity that has been providing care, education and support in the North West of England since 1870. The post holder will be a member of the Inscape House School and Post 16 provision on the Cheadle campus.

Purpose of the post

The post-holder will provide assessment, intervention and monitoring for pupils with autism spectrum conditions which will enable them to develop functional communication skills. They will work in close collaboration with parents and other professionals within the outside of the schools. Safeguarding children and vulnerable people is a priority for all employees. About you

  • Degree in speech and language therapy
  • Current registration with the Health Professionals Council as fit to work in the UK and RCSLT
  • Knowledge of current theories and models of practice appropriate to your discipline
  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Conditions including Asperger’s Syndrome
  • Knowledge of relevant safeguarding requirements and how to help young people with communication difficulties stay safe
  • Internet access skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft office applications - word, powerpoint, excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to relate well to parents and carers
  • Ability to work as part of a team
