Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an excellent opportunity for a Telecare Support Officer on a 3 months contract with a possibility of an extension.

Main purpose of post

Undertake the installation, programming, testing and maintenance of a wide range of complex assistive technology equipment. The installation to include the safe use of power hand power tools and other tools as appropriate (so applicant must have the ability to correctly use an electric drill) and the use of a variety of IT devices for effective programming of equipment.

Responsibilities

Work a rotational shift pattern on a rota basis including weekends and bank
holidays 365 days of the year and be required to work an alternative shift
patterns as and when the needs of the business require, this may be at short
notice
To contribute to the effective running of the service area through attendance at
meetings and training events as required including attendance on non-designated working days.
Undertake home visits to vulnerable adults across tenure types
Carry out technical assessments to establish the most suitable location for the sensors and the necessary timings and calibration of the equipment to meet customer needs and reduce risk.
Clean equipment on a daily basis and return to stock when not in use, ensuring that faulty equipment is recorded with the identified fault and returned to Care link.
Undertake the installation, programming, testing and maintenance of a wide range of complex Lifeline, Telecare and Telehealth equipment. The installation to include the safe use of power and other tools as appropriate and the use of a variety of IT devices for effective programming of equipment. All installations to be carried out to a standard to ensure the correct functioning of the equipment, and to avoid risk to the customer and their visitors.
To ensure all installed equipment is tested to Care link before leaving site
Contact service users after 8 weeks of installation to ensure the service meets their needs and offer good customer service
Carry out checks on installations and all equipment testing including gas and epilepsy sensors on an annual basis or where faults are suspected and arrange for the safe disconnection of equipment where appropriate
To order through the appropriate supplier, key safes and gas detectors and liaise with an electrician to install the gas detectors.
Gain technical knowledge to ensure a full range of Telecare and Telehealth equipment can be installed, programmed, tested and maintained effectively and participate in training sessions where gaps in knowledge or skills are identified.
To be responsible for maintaining and regularly updating both manual records and computerised social care client information systems,
To gather accurate customer details on a daily basis and ensure that this information is passed to Care link at the end of each shift for processing onto the system.
To record case notes and outcomes daily on the social care database following the customer visit in line with the principles and policies of data protection.
To return all appropriate paperwork to Care link at the end of each working day
To ensure all customer paperwork and contracts are processed in line with set proceduresSkills/Qualifications

All installations to be carried out to a high standard to ensure the correct functioning of the equipment, and to avoid risk to the customer and their visitors.
Must have a current driving license and access to a roadworthy vehicle for work purposes at all times
Must have business use insurance for the vehicle.
Must have an enhanced Adults DBS
Applicants will be required to work the attached rota which includes evenings and weekends
