Material Planner / Buyer

Our established, highly successful and reputable Lincoln based client is looking to recruit a Material Planner / Buyer on a full time, permanent basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supplier Management:
* Responsible for own range of suppliers
* Purchasing within team budget
* Raise purchase orders with the correct balance between quantity, price and delivery costs
* Prevent stock outs by forward planning, monitoring low stock products and investigating the possibility of alternative supply
* Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery dates
* Drive lead times and order quantities down without impacting on transport costs or delivery performance
Stock Management:
* Update re-order parameters according to supplier conditions and the nature of the product
* Maintain forecast information and monitor products that are over/under stocked
* Ensure product flow is as smooth as possible, considering factors such as space and demand
Sourcing:
* Liaise with the Product Development Team providing information on new products and improvements to current ranges
THE CANDIDATE
* Organised and methodical
* Motivated to succeed
* Self Starter
* Attention to detail and follow tasks through to completion
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous similar experience, be enthusiastic in their approach to work and enjoy working as part of a busy team.
