Concentrating our efforts on six core sectors of Industry - Engineering, Technical, Manufacturing, Textiles, Chemical and Automotive, we are currently supporting with the recruitment of a Machine Inspector on a permanent basis for our Prestigious client who, for the last 100 years, have established themselves within the Textiles Industry.

The Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.

• Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment requirements.

• Inform Machine foreman/shift manager of problems and operational concerns.

• Participate in trouble shooting and problem resolutions.

• Responsible for quality inspections according to company requirements.

• Participate in continuous process improvements.

• Adhere to company planned cleaning shifts, including completion of the cleaning check list procedure.

• Check the machine is running to the correct specification

• Calculate Requirements against the order and communicate with others

• Follow correct procedure for blend changes

• Product being made is to the customers specification, loft ,Wight and size

• Demonstrate good leadership and communicate with your team and machine Foreman

• Ensure your quality is correct at all times always checking for special instructions and tolerances with the product

• Settings on the guillotine are correct to meet customers specification

• Quality checks per inspection plan to be followed and signed off once completed

• Paper work from your shift has to be handed in to the shift Manager at the end of the shift

• Ensure all orders have been opened and closed correctly once completed

General Description:

You are required to Quality inspect the product being produced and cover the machine supervisor during their breaks. Never operate the machine out of its specification and always with Safety first. The Quality of the product must always be to the customer's specification. This key driver for an inspector

Confidence along with good customer quality knowledge followed by open communication skills and a passion for delivering product of the highest standard to our customers

You need to be able to communicate any quality or mechanical issues. This may involve using problem solving techniques or meetings with your machine supervisor/ shift Manager and maintenance manager

Ensure any stoppages or downtime are correctly recorded on our networked system "SFOL" (Shop Floor on Line)

Recording test results from quality checks along with opening and closing orders, managing and controlling finished orders/paperwork and tractability to all products being made.

Your ability to get the quality right first time is important and you must not jeopardise quantity over quality at any time.

Skills:

• Computer literate.

• Physically fit.

Knowledge Experience & Qualifications:

• GSCE (or equivalent) In Maths and English Language.

• Demonstrated proficiency, through pre-employment testing, in reading comprehension, writing and basic maths calculations in the English language.

• Knowledge and use of computerised equipment and machinery is preferred.

• Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred.

• To have worked with carding machines and lappers along with a good Mechanical background is preferred

• Able to use problem solving techniques to help minimise production down time

• Good absence and attendance record

The Hours

This role is to work

1 x 8 hour shift through the week (any day Monday to Friday) and static Saturdays and Sundays

6.00am - 6.00pm

The Pay

GBP23,300 per annum
