The Role: The AICS Group is looking for a Highly Skilled Rehabilitation Support Worker Who Speaks Farsi to work with our client who resides in Hackney/Dalston. This role provides immense job satisfaction within a busy and varied environment. The main focus of the work is supporting the client with his interests and rehabilitation (providing a cognitive neuro-rehabilitation focused support with activities of daily living, physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapist and working with the neuropsychologist) to rebuild his life, with emphasis on working towards independence, whilst being effectively supported with:
* Medication routine via PEG
* Epilepsy and Seizure Management
* Implementing Therapy guidelines and working alongside a Multi-Disciplinary Team
* Supporting the client with their independent living and accessing the community
We are looking for highly skilled Rehabilitation support workers who have the experience, patience, empathy and commitment to support families/clients with their rehabilitation programme and help assist clients to reach their goal of increased independence.
Work hours: The AICS Group is looking for a Flexible Farsi Speaking Support Worker who can work alternative Wednesdays from 08:00-20:00 and every Friday and Sunday from 08:00-20:00.
Client: Our client is a young male in his early Thirties who lives in N16. He suffered a traumatic brain injury, which resulted in various cognitive and physical difficulties. Due to his brain injury, he has advanced Dyspraxia and Aphasia. He has a close family network around him who are keen for him to be supported to greater independence. He also has a dedicated therapy team who guides his support workers in their work. The client loves music, games, cooking and making jokes.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The ideal Support Worker would:
* Have experience in ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) Rehabilitation with young adults
* Ability to build a good rapport with the client
* Be prepared to commit to the required shift patterns
* Have the ability to follow and implement therapy guidelines
* Have the skills to positively engage and motivate the client in his rehabilitation
* Be skilled in supporting clients towards independence
* Have the ability to work alongside a wider professional team and family members
* Be responsible and reliable
* Be an excellent communicator
* Adhere to governmental guidelines of PPE use in home care and rehabilitation
Desirable Skills:
* BSc or BA in Psychology
* MCs in Neurorehabilitation / Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience / or related fields
* Experience of providing support to people living in the community
