Qualtech Resourcing, a recruitment business, incorporated over fifteen years ago, it was our intention then as it is today, to offer an industry specific recruitment solution bespoke to our clients.
Concentrating our efforts on six core sectors of Industry - Engineering, Technical, Manufacturing, Textiles, Chemical and Automotive, we are currently supporting with the recruitment of a Machine Supervisor, on a permanent basis for our Prestigious client who, for the last 100 years, have established themselves within the Textiles Industry.
The Role
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
• Inform supervisor/shift manager of problems and operational concerns.
• Participate in trouble shooting and problem resolutions.
• Responsible for ensuring quality inspections are preformed according to the inspection plan requirements.
• Participate in continuous process improvements.
• Adhere to company planned cleaning shifts, including completion of the cleaning check list procedure.
• Check the machine is running to the correct specification.
• Calculate Requirements against orders and communicate with others.
• Follow correct procedure for blend changes.
• Continually check before a blend change so you don't over make or under make on an order.
• Make sure all needle boards are maintained and always available.
• Paper work from your shift has to be handed in to the shift Manager at the end of the shift.
• Ensure the correct order has been opened and marked complete within SFOL (Shop-floor Online).
• Demonstrate good leadership and hold daily team briefs.
• Manage your team and machine through breaks.
• Check on your team's performance to ensure they are following correct quality special instructions.
• KPI board updated with relevant information to pass on to your team.
• To maintain work area in a safe and clean condition including weekly house keeping audits on a scheduled plan.
• Ensuring your machine starts up and runs out on time keeping down time to a minimum.
General Description:
You are required to operate the line efficiently and correctly, never to operate the machine out of its specification and always with safety first. The quality of the product must always be to the customer's specification.
Confidence along with good leadership and communication skills, the ability to lead your team and show direction and strength when required is important. Enthusiasm and a passion for delivering product of the highest standard is one of the key drivers.
You need to be able to communicate any mechanical or quality issues that may arise. Resolve any problems by using problem solving techniques and where necessary communicating with the shift and maintenance managers.
Ensure any stoppages or downtime have been correctly recorded on our networked system SFOL (Shop-floor online)
Skills:
• Computer literate.
• Work well under pressure
• Good communication skills
Knowledge Experience & Qualifications:
GSCE (or equivalent) In Maths and English Language
• Demonstrated proficiency, through pre-employment testing, in reading comprehension, writing and basic maths calculations in the English language.
• Knowledge and use of computerised equipment and machinery.
• Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• To have worked with carding machines and lappers along with a good mechanical background.
• Able to use problem solving techniques to help minimise production down time.
• Good absence and attendance record.
The Hours
This role is to work
1 x 8 hour shift through the week (any day Monday to Friday) and static Saturdays and Sundays
6.00am - 6.00pm

The Pay
GBP30,100 per annum
