Maintenance Team Leader (Electrical)

The Maintenance Team Leader will provide maintenance services to the site to ensure maximum plant up time.  This will include carrying out planned & corrective maintenance and capital modifications to plant.  The role holder will provide 24 hour 7 day/ week breakdown support shared with colleagues. All this is done in a sustainable and safe way according to Sibelco policies.  The role is also required to drive improvement programs and be actively involved in a continuous improvement culture within the Company.


  • Apply rigorously the Sibelco Health, Safety & Environmental Policy at all times
  • Responsibility for planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance, and capital modifications
  • Monitor plant performance and condition to identify and rectify potential breakdowns
  • New plant installations/modifications from the design to final commissioning
  • Provide 24-hour, 7 day/week support service to the site via a call out system
  • If required, travel to other Sibelco UK sites to provide maintenance support
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained 
  • Work unsupervised and make maintenance decisions independently
  • Assist with the day to day supervision of the Maintenance team


  • Level 3 NVQ Electrical Engineering as minimum, ONC/HNC Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Basic mechanical skills for electrical engineers
  • Specific training related to mineral processing plant preferred
  • Specific health & safety training
  • Good level of knowledge relating to quarry equipment
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regs
  • Electricity at Work Regulations and dangers of electricity
  • Electrical safe systems of work including isolation 
  • Electrical circuit theory and use of measuring instruments
  • High & Low voltage equipment including switchgear
