Due to increased workload, my client is looking for an Accounts Senior to join their Accountancy Practice based in Exeter.
Key Responsibilities:
* Dealing with the completion of annual accounts and tax computations, for both incorporated and unincorporated businesses up to GBP5M turnover
* Ensuring that accounting records for clients are maintained and kept up to date
* Preparing reports and returns, including recording information for VAT and business tax returns and assistance with the preparation of the year end accounts for companies, sole traders and partnerships/ LLPs
* Dealing with the completion of quarterly VAT returns
* Comply with internal policies and procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements
* Drafting correspondence for clients; liaising with HMRC, by telephone and email
* Providing varied administrative and business set-up services for clients
* Using computer software to record financial transactions, including Excel, Word, Sage accounting software and other financial packages (training will be provided)
Essential Experience / Qualifications and Attributes Required:
* Qualified ACA or ACCA with at least 12 months recent post-qualification experience
* Ideally A level Maths and/or economics
* At least 4 years working in practice, with experience of accounts preparation, business and corporate tax, and ideally personal tax.
* Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks or Xero, as well as accounts production software such as Iris or CCH
* Ability to show initiative and work within a team. Ability to build good client relationships
