This is an exciting opportunity within social care.
Being a support worker for CLIP provides both experienced people and those just beginning their career with the ability to provide support to vulnerable people in a very different way. You are responsible for providing close, responsive and developmental support primarily for young adults with a learning disability based wholly around the life they want and the future they choose. You will work as part of a small and dedicated team within the Torbay community from people’s own homes and 2 small personalised respite settings. CLIP provides a highly bespoke structure of developmental support that specialises primarily in the transition from children to adults.
CLIP believes in the equality of all, People’s voice, beliefs, interests and aspirations, the complete respect of basic human rights, the ability to receive support that doesn’t compact further disability or dependency, to empower a future that harnesses personal skills and interests, and ultimately reduces the need for paid support over a period of time.
With the support of your Operations Manager, you are responsible for listening to the aspirations and outcomes for the person you support along with the criteria set by the local authority in developing a suitable plan that incorporates the wider community to assist in achieving these outcomes.
The support workers role makes for an exciting, sometimes challenging but very autonomous working approach towards how support looks for people.
