The Royal School for the Blind Charity, Liverpool runs both a School and an adult day service for young adults. Both provisions are part of the Charity.

School: The Royal School for the Blind, Liverpool offers educational placements for children between the ages of 2 and 19 with visual impairments and complex needs. Placements at the school are for both day and residential children.  It is the aim of the School to provide the highest educational and care opportunities for all its children.

Adult Day Service: Rushton Futures, is a structured adult day service for men and women aged between 19 and 27 who have visual impairments and are described as having complex needs.

SALARY -  LEADERSHIP SPINE L15 -  L21 plus RESIDENTIAL ALLOWANCE

LOCATION – Church Road North, Wavertree, Liverpool, L15 6TQ

CONTRACT BASIS - FULL TIME, PERMANENT

The Royal School for the Blind, Liverpool is an incorporated registered charity providing education for children aged 2 to 19 years who have visual impairment and other complex needs (MDVI).  Currently there are 87 pupils on roll.

The Trustees’ seek to appoint an inspirational Head of School whose contribution will enhance the School's outstanding reputation in education, (Ofsted 2017) and care (Ofsted 2019).  Suitable candidates will have Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Head of School or similar experience and have achieved an appropriate specialist SEND qualification. Suitable candidates will have an enthusiastic outlook, exceptional leadership qualities and a passion for delivering outstanding care and education for all children.

It will be a requirement of the successful candidate to act as emergency senior staff on call for Residential for one night per week onsite. Accommodation will be provided.

Due to Covid restrictions, the Charity cannot facilitate a visit prior to application.  Candidates shortlisted will be offered an individual tour of the School and Charity campus on an agreed date before their interview. Interviews will be carried out in a Covid safe manner and will adhere to the Government guidance. It is our intention to spread interviews out across four days to facilitate social distancing. Suitable face coverings will also be worn by all those involved in the process.
