TeacherActive are looking for an experienced Special education needs learning support assistant/ SEN LSA for a long term assignment, starting ASAP in Canvey Island.
The position is in a wonderful medium sized primary school. The successful SEN LSA will be expected to work in a mainstream setting and support children with special needs with relevant teaching methods to help further their progression.
You may also be expected to support the school in helping cover other classes and year groups when needed, supporting both students and staff. The right candidate should be warm and empathetic in nature, with a natural ability to relate to children.
Full training and support will be given to the successful candidate.
You should show a willingness to learn, coupled with good interpersonal skills and a desire to make a difference in the lives of children are the main attributes required.
It is essential that you have/are the following:
Relevant qualifications (ECDL, NVQ etc.)
Experience and knowledge working in early years and primary.
Experience and knowledge of working with SEN children
Minimum 'C' Level in GSCE English and Math or the equivalent.
The enthusiasm to work with children with a variety of different personalities and skill levels.
A strong, confident individual who can take control of a classroom.
Able to engage well with pupils and staff.
Able to work under your own initiative.
Smartly presented and with excellent time management skills.
All of our supply staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you're paying the right level of Tax and National Insurance and there's no messing around with admin charges coming out of your hard earned cash.
