Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client as the HSEQ Manager. We are
seeking a candidate who has good relevant experience within the construction industry. The candidate will manage and oversee all Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality issues which arise including the systems which contain them. They will ensure the companies policies and procedures are carried out by production departments and sub-contractors under their control. The role will cover all aspects of Health and Safety, on and off-site. They should be methodical, technically minded and an effective communicator with the ability to work in a team environment and under pressure. The role will require client and supplier contact. The candidate should have good problem-solving skills and have a hands-on approach. Salary is negotiable for the right person. Primary responsibilities will include
* Manage all aspects of H&S, Environmental and Quality within the company
* Promote positive H&S Culture and set a personal example
* Update and improve company Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality policies
* Carry out company Inductions
* Update and improve all H&S documentation; e.g. Inductions, toolbox talks, audits and RAMS
* Complete H&S paperwork and PQQ's as necessary
* Be the face of the company for External assessments/Audits
* Ensure works are carried out in compliance with all UK Law, Adamson Construction Policies & Procedures and ISO standards
* Regularly Inspect/Audit worksites and personnel to ensure that works are going accordingly to H&S Plans, RAMS, Codes of Practice and are generally safe. Deal with any issues as per procedures
* Ensure that accidents, near misses and incidents, are recorded. Investigate and notify relevant authorities according to procedures required by the regulations and forward such documents to the relevant authority in accordance with the reporting of Injuries, Disease and Dangerous Occurrence Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR).
* Cooperate with the resident or visiting Safety Officers/Consultants/Auditors and ensure that any defects or faults brought to their notice are suitably corrected. Ensure that all issues raised are investigated thoroughly and that suitable remedial measures are implemented to prevent a recurrence.
* Ensure that other people, including visitors and members of the public are not placed at risk as a result of the Company's activities.
* Instigate an inspection procedure so that all activities are undertaken in a controlled safe manner and with due regard for statutory obligations and approved Codes of Practice.
* Ensure sub-contractors have completed pre-qualification questionnaires and that this document has been reviewed and signed off prior to the appointment of the sub-contractor
* Write, Update and Review company H&S, Environmental and quality objectives
* Organise, chair and produce minutes for H&S and Quality meetings
* Develop and maintain legal registers for H&S and Environmental legislation
* Manage H&S at Company Premises
Qualifications
* Relevant Construction NEBOSH/IOSH/Diploma/Degree qualification(s)
* Relevant Environmental qualification
* Relevant Quality qualification
* Valid Driving Licence
Experience
* Experience in being company H&S representative
* 10 years of practical experience on commercial projects, most of which with a small to medium company
* Experience leading Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Audits
* Some site-level experience during a career
* Strong IT skills including, MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS word
