Course Leader, Sports & Exercise Science

Salary:  £30,089 - £36,482 per annum

Location: Bridgwater Campus, TA6 4PZ

The course leader role is an exciting opportunity for a high-quality teacher and leader to manage the quality and student experience of a sport related programme.  The department hosts a suite of Sport related qualifications including A-Level, Level 3 BTEC Sport & Sport Science, L3 Personal Training, Level 2 Sport, L2 Gym Instructing and a L1 Sport programme, ensuring that qualifications and progression opportunities are provided for all students.  The successful candidate will be allocated their programme(s) to manage based on their experience, preference and skillset.

The post holder will be joining an AoC Beacon award winning provision and the Sports, Outdoor Education and Public Services Department is outstandingly successful. It prides itself on its emphasis on constantly improving and developing teaching techniques and strategies. You would be working in an environment where you will be encouraged to devote time to innovative teaching approaches which will stimulate the students and ensure that the provision continues to be bigger, better and different.

There will be an expectation of the post holder to have the pre-requisite experience and appropriate qualifications to be able to co-ordinate and plan the delivery and assessment of the programme(s) they are responsible for. You will be joining a highly gifted and talented department, of which you will be expected to teach across L1 – L3 provision and help drive the academic performance of students.  There will be an opportunity for the post holder to be an integral part of Team BTC (our Sports Academy) depending on their coaching background and expertise.
