An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Solicitor/Manager in our client's Banbury office, assisting the Head of Department in providing legal services in respect of conveyancing instructions received from Clients and intermediaries and managing and developing the Residential property team. To communicate with clients, referrers, agents, lenders, other parties Solicitors and mortgage brokers.

They would welcome applicants who have significant Managerial experience, are qualified and have the ambition, skills and drive to succeed the Head of Department in future.

Key Requirements and Duties:

Ideal candidates will have a broad range of conveyancing experience including the following areas:
Sale & Purchase
Freehold and Leasehold
Shared Ownership
New Build (especially prevalent in our Bicester office)
Help to Buy

Right to buy

Ability to advise junior colleagues on legal questions and issues arising on current matters

Have the ability to recognise and develop existing and new relationships with agents and introducers.
Be able to check titles and leases.
Able to use the Case Management System (CMS) to produce letters and documents
To Manage and introduce an effective structure across the department to include effective supervision, file reviews and accountability
To be responsible for own caseload of conveyancing files.
To have a good knowledge of the preparation of bills and completion statements.
To ensure that high levels of customer service are maintained at all times throughout the department.
To ensure that the Director of Residential Property is kept informed of any cases where there is reason to believe that it may lead to a problem or complaint.
To ensure that telephone calls are dealt with in a professional and friendly manner.
To ensure clients are regularly updated as to progress of matters.
To delegate administrative tasks such as copying, applying for searches and post completion work to the Conveyancing Assistants.
To ensure that all matters are billed promptly at completion.
To be familiar when required with the operation of all relevant IT facilities including Word, Excel, Laserform, Proclaim etc.
To ensure the confidentiality and security of all Firm and client documentation and information.
To support and develop junior members of the team.
To ensure training is completed by the team.
To be able to demonstrate proactivity and attention to detail.
To demonstrate organisational and management skills, and an ability to cope with changing levels of workloads
