Oracle Database Administrator/DBA

Our renowned client is currently looking to recruit an Oracle Database Administrator/DBA on an initial 6 month contract.

Within the role you will be supporting and migrating Oracle and Postgres Databases. The successful candidate will have experience of Oracle 3L, Oracle 12C and Oracle 19C, patching and life cycling, experience supporting large scale mission critical systems and ideally knowledge of Postgres. You will be confident investigating and resolving service affecting issues, providing RCA's, have great team-working skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Help prepare and support a plan and schedule to migrate many Oracle and Postgres DBs to later versions
• Migrate DBs across all tiers (development/test/production) to latest versions, working closely with the support teams and service owners that manage the services hosted. Work proactively to close down issues within a strict Change Management protocol.
• Record issues and share lessons learnt to follow on migrations through careful management of procedures including peer reviews and RCAs. Emphasis is on team working, ensuring migrations are smooth and without issue and knowledge transfer is successfully accomplished.

Please note this role is Inside IR35 however you can operate on a Limited Company or Umbrella Company basis.

The ideal candidate will hold SC Clearance/BPSS, however this isn't essential as the successful candidate will be sponsored through the security process.

Under current restrictions the role will be remote based and once restrictions lifted will be a mixture of onsite and remote working.
