Trustee

We are looking for a Trustee to join us at Severn Trent Trust Fund, a successful and well-known charity with a good reputation throughout the utility industry and the money advice sector. The board have reviewed their skills and experience and have concluded that they would benefit from a new member with accountancy and financial experience to join the audit and risk committee. Your anticipated time commitment will be 10 to 12 half days per year and all expenses will be paid.

The Severn Trent Trust Fund has been established for over 23 years and is a major charity serving the Midlands. Its income last year was GBP3.5million, donated by Severn Trent Water to help their customers who are experiencing financial hardship. The Trust wholly owns a trading subsidiary Auriga Services Ltd which in addition to managing the Severn Trent Trust Fund, manages the trust funds of Thames Water and United Utilities. It also runs a debt advice and welfare benefits service for various clients including the NHS.

As a Trustee at Severn Trent trust Fund, your responsibilities will include:

* Attending four half day formal meetings per year.

* Attending four audit and risk meetings per year.

* Taking an interest in the relationship that exists between the Trust Fund and Auriga and on rotation attend Auriga board meetings.

We are looking for a Trustee who has the following skills and experiences:

* Experience in financial matters is desirable but not essential.

* To be a qualified accountant would be beneficial but is not essential.

* Must have the time and energy to devote to being a responsible trustee to ensure good governance and oversee the running of the trust.
