Page Personnel are representing a public sector client based in Preston, who are looking for a Communications Officer to join them on a 12 month contract.

Description
As a Communications Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the general public receives regular and accurate updates as and when necessary. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
To develop key messages and communications materials
To work closely with colleagues across the network to maximise the potential of all communications activity through effective teamwork, including the areas of internal communications, campaigns and digital.
To work closely with the wider partnership to provide support and focus to the response and to attend meetings to offer communications support and advice to colleagues where appropriate.
To ensure that digital communications, the web and social media are an integral part of communications delivery and to exploit opportunities as they arise.
To source, write and circulate press releases to appropriate media, including industry publications in order to maximise publicity opportunities, directly and through social media channels.
To assist with all forms of media liaison including call handling, arranging and facilitating press briefings, as well as arranging and advising on interview opportunities, and recording all media contact where appropriate.
Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to delivering and achieving value for money, whilst providing high quality of service.
To promote and comply with obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and Health & Safety, both in the delivery of service and the treatments of others.Profile
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have previous experience within a similar role
- Hold a recognised qualification in public relations and / or journalism equivalent to NVQ level 5
- Have experience of and an understanding of working to media and publishing laws.
