We have a great opportunity with our well-known charity client who is looking for a Strategic Delivery Manager to join their organisation. This is a remote role initially with office-based working in Birmingham or Newcastle post restrictions.

Our client is responsible for funding projects across the UK working with communities and people who it considers most in need. The grants help to deliver projects within health, education, environment and charity environments.

Sitting in the Corporate Services directorate, this is a key role within their Strategic Planning function and reports to the Head of Strategic Planning.

Your role will be to ensure that the 9 directorates are aligned to the strategic aspirations of the corporate plan. Working closely with senior leaders and their teams, you will be responsible for facilitating and refining the processes, providing guidance, monitoring delivery, reviewing overall progress against the plan and supporting the Senior Management Team in strategy development. You will also work with the Finance Team to help coordinate the annual business planning cycle.

This role requires a mix of project management, change management, coaching and mentoring, and strategic planning. Stakeholder management skills are essential as this role engages across the entire organisation.

Key areas:

Project Management

You will utilise your expertise and experience in the field of Prince 2 and/or Agile project management methodologies, to establish and maintain best practice project management processes and systems. You will act as a coach, advisor and critical friend to support corporate project and initiative teams to ensure they maximise benefits and manage risks.Strategic Delivery

You will support the Head of Strategic Planning to ensure resources are deployed appropriately in line with the organisation's priorities and ensure corporate projects and initiatives are coordinated and held accountable for their delivery. You will build effective stakeholder relationships and provide support to project teams to remove obstacles and report on delivery progress.

Essential skills and experience:

Demonstrable project management experience within a formal project environment.
Excellent stakeholder management experience working across all levels of an organisation - must include senior leadership engagement.
Experience of strategic planning and the wider context.
Strong communication skills, working across team and organisational boundaries at all levels
Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams, mentoring and coaching individuals and providing direction, highlighting priorities and identifying solutions.
Knowledge of a range Prince and/or Agile delivery techniques and tools
Experience of conducting constructive objective reviews of project documentation to help remove risks and achieve success
Experience of developing processes, systems and associated guidance and template documentation, and guiding teams through the implementation of new processes.
Ability to take a continuous approach to planning, managing uncertainty, metrics and measurements, contingency planning and road mapping
Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in small team to ensure team delivery
Experience in risk management
Experience in delivering the key elements of a strategy management system
Knowledgeable in business excellence frameworks such as EFQM
