GBR Recruitment Ltd are working in partnership with a specialist trailers, heavy haulage equipment business recruiting for an experienced HGV Specialist Trailer Mechanic / Engineer to carry out service support, repairs and refurbishments to a varied fleet of Trailers with varying specifications and capacities.
If you are an experienced HGV Mechanic or Workshop Engineer, Field Service Engineer or similar within the Plant / Construction or Specialist Off Highway or On Highway machinery sector then this could be the varied role you have been seeking allowing you to utilise your pneumatic, hydraulics & mechanical skills on a daily basis
The company manufacturer, service & repair abnormal road transport with excessive payloads
As a result of their success in the UK market they currently require an experienced HGV specialist Trailer Mechanic/Engineer to join the small Engineering / Maintenance team
Hours: 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday (8.5 hour days / 42.5 hour weeks)
Overtime: Paid at x1.5 hourly rate after the core 42.5 hours increasing earning potential
Duties:
* You will be involved in the maintenance repair and refurbishment of specialist heavy haulage trailers
* Ability to carry out inspections to M.O.T. standard is essential
* Working on pneumatic & hydraulic systems, mechanical & electrical parts / components as well as stripping down the trailers & rebuilding parts
* Depending on skill level the right candidate can also participate in breakdown services.
Experience & Skills:
* You will be an experienced HGV Mechanic or Engineer within Haulage, Construction & Plant Machinery, Specialist Off or On Highway Machinery or other products consisting of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical & electrical parts
* You will need a full driving licence
* HGV class 1 licence (C&E articulated) would be a plus but isn't essential
* Able to work on own or as part of a small team
