One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker. This is a temporary contract for 5 months with possible further extension based on budget and performance.

Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary

* Homeless service provides accommodation for a range of homeless households (vulnerable single adults, families) who require support before moving on into independent living. Tenants are offered help to develop skills such as budgeting, setting up home and seeking employment or training. Staff also provide advice and support to help tenants gain access to other services and organisations. For example, they will help tenants to access health services, social care, or specialist services.

* No two days will be the same as you support customers with all aspects of their individual requirements. Previous experience of supporting people (age 18 - 70) essential, knowledge of the benefit system.

* Good IT skills are essential - MS Word/outlook.

* Must have experience of working with support plans and risk assessments.

* 3 rolling is rota is subject to sleep-ins usually 2 per week paid (at an additional rate of GBP73.89).

* The shifts are based on a three week rolling rota with regular sleep-ins across seven days. Current shift pattern is based upon a 2pm -11pm + sleep ins, followed by an 8am -3pm shift. Longest shift 12.30-11+s.

* The role requires the ability to work shifts across Bank Holidays. (5 out of 7 days per week). Enhanced DBS required.
