Adecco are currently recruiting experienced Security/Cleaners/Receptionists (Facilities Assistants) to work with our well established client based in Edinburgh on an adhoc temporary basis. You will be comfortable with all of the above and be an all rounder.
Pay rate varies between GBP9.39 up to GBP11.37
Hours of work may vary due to different cover for shifts -
7am - 4pm I 7am - 7pm I 12:30pm - 9:30pm I 9pm - 7am I 7pm - 7am (must be flexible for most shifts)

My client is looking for someone to cover a lot of annual leave coming up. You will be flexible and open to different shifts to cover things such as annual leave or sickness.
Key Responsibilities Include:
2.1 Health Safety and Security
a) To ensure the residence is safe and secure during the night.
b) Complete regular patrols of the residence to protect and deter theft, vandalism and any unwanted activity, recording or escalating any areas of concern.
c) Report breaches and issues of health and safety giving advice where required.
d) Respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies on site.
e) Carry out periodic health and safety checks, including those relating to fire safety and risk assessments.
f) To keep an up to date log of all events and incidents and ensure sufficient handover at the end of each shift to any incoming team members.
g) To monitor the CCTV system, reporting any irregularities to the General Manager.
2.2 Maintenance and Janitorial
a) Take responsibility for ensuring that the community is exceptionally well-maintained, well-presented and functional at all times.
b) Complete both planned and reactive maintenance tasks to communal areas when required.
c) Ensure that the bin stores are tidy and that the bins are rotated regularly.
d) To make sure that refuse area is kept clean - this includes the surrounding areas (such as courtyard and car park).
2.3 Customer Service
a) To take pride in the look and feel of the property - ensuring the standard is great for our residents.
b) To address any welfare concerns for our residents that occur during the night, escalating to the management team or emergency services where appropriate.
c) To assist the management team with key tasks during the summer turnaround period or summer business, ensuring that the building is ready for the new intake.
d) Assist with the distribution of mail for all residents.
2.4 Other
a) This list of responsibilities is not intended to be exhaustive and other requests in line with the role may be made of you from time-to-time.
b) This role also requires a degree of flexibility in terms of nights and hours worked. There may be occasional weekend and evening work, particularly during the busy summer months.
c) On occasion, you may also be required to support other residences. Usually this would be within the same city and reasonable notice will be given.

Essential:
a. Previous experience within a facilities or security-based role.
b. Experience of working within a team.
c. Experience of providing great customer service.
d. Ability to be proactive with strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
e. Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels (orally and in writing).
f. Very organised, with ability to multi-task on a regular basis.
g. Entry level skills in using MS Office and online systems / databases.
Desirable:
a. A relevant trade (carpentry, electrician, plumbing etc.)
b. Experience of working within the student accommodation or a similar sector.
c. NEBOSH or IOSH Certificate or similar qualification.
