BBS Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Press and New Media Officer for our clients in Enfield.

The main responsibilities of a Press and New Media Officer are but not limited to:

• To provide a full media relations service to local, national and specialist media working proactively to promote the Council in a way that is consistent with its vision and values including writing, issuing, and monitoring press releases, arranging photo opportunities and press conferences, and supporting officers and members giving media interviews with a primary focus on our Covid-19 response.

• To monitor and use new/social media to support the delivery of effective communication campaigns and reputation management, both pro-actively and re-actively, advising officers as appropriate, primarily in relation to our Covid-19 response.

• To manage and respond to Member Enquiries and FOIs on infrastructure projects which impact on the reputation of the Council.

• To support the work in raising Enfield's national profile through features and interviews in the national/professional press

• To assist the Press and New Media Manager in improving Enfield's communications, reputation, and identity through a strategic approach to messaging with an emphasis on our Covid-19 response

• To support the Press and New Media Manager to effectively plan for and manage crisis and sensitive communication issues including those priority areas identified by the Director of Environment and Operational Services

• To support the work of the marketing team in delivering integrated campaigns as agreed in the Council's annual communications plan with a priority focus on Covid-19 response.

• To ensure Enfield fosters a positive relationship with key media including editors and local and specialist press and local community groups/representatives concerning areas of priority identified by the Director of Environment and Operational Services

• Any other duties reasonably requested by management

• Carry out all accountabilities in compliance with the Council's Policies and Procedures
