Supply Chain Scheduler

The main purpose of this position is to ensure the efficient and timely scheduling of production and materials to satisfy manufacturing needs and control working capital, together with the timely processing of orders, goods, and services requirements.  The role will involve working closely with operations, all supply chain functions and external suppliers. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Finish to Order & Packaging scheduling and Charting.
  • Set up SAP MRP schedules for packaging materials, issue schedules to suppliers.  
  • Run SAP MRP daily.
  • Run adhoc enquires for insertions / date changes Vs stocks.
  • Stock management is key to controlling working capital, including maintaining safety stocks & re-order point planning levels.
  • Regularly review the products units are making and amend the packaging plan as required, based on short term production changes.
  • Review order trends Vs future requirements.

Qualifications - External

Key Skills, Knowledge, Abilities & Experience

  • Qualifications at a minimum of SCQF level 4 (or equivalent, including vocational qualifications) in English, Maths and at least one other core subject.
  • Proficient in the use of a wide range of Microsoft applications. Previous experience of SAP would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Ability to prioritise daily workload, multi-task and plan ahead.
  • The ability to work independently and resolve day to day issues professionally, with minimal supervision, and be an effective team player.
  • The ability to interface with all levels of internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers and contractors.
  • Safety conscious with a knowledge of risk assessment processes.
