Reception Manager
The DoubleTree by Hilton, Hull is seeking a Reception Manager to join our Front Office team.
The DoubleTree by Hilton provides a 24-hour full-service facility complete with 165 bedrooms, meeting space for up to 1,000 delegates and a fitness centre. Food and Beverage outlets include a 100 cover branded restaurant, roof top bar and lobby bar.
The role
Reporting directly into the Hotel Manager; this role operates at a Deputy level and overseeing the day Reception team. Ultimately the purpose of the role is to support the Front Office Team to ensure the highest levels of hospitality are upheld by the team in line with the Hilton brand standards and maximises revenue opportunities wherever possible.
The successful candidate will be required to work shifts across weekends, evenings, bank holidays and other public holidays as needed.
Key responsibilities
* Creating team rota/schedules
* To ensure that your team are fully conversant with the facilities, services and special promotions offered by the hotel
* Continuous observation and review of the hotel's guest feedback platforms (SALT), ensuring actions are taken to improve scores
* Be a brand ambassador for the hotel ensuring the desired culture is alive and promoted heavily within the team and hotel
* Ensure the team drive forward any opportunities to maximise hotel sales and revenue
* Ensure the team are aware of the hotel's availability and every opportunity to maximise room sales is taken
* Ensure the team anticipate guest needs, taking a particular interest in our loyal and regular guests ensuring a positive rapport is built
* Have a full understanding of all branded front office systems and be an expert on navigation and use of the tools
* Supporting the team to ensure hotel communication procedures are effective and efficient on a day to day basis, so that service standards are not compromised
* Co-ordinate constructively with all internal departments so that policy, procedure and requirements are all adhered to
* Uphold strict procedures and controls within the department
* Actively develop positive and effective communication between the reception team other teams such as housekeeping and reservations
* Be actively involved in executing revenue strategies and sales initiatives
* Demonstrate a management style that is both 'hands on' and strategic
* Maintain healthy levels of team engagement and low turnover
* Manage and coordinate recruitment and HR activities
* To carry out Duty Management functions as require
Required skills and experience
* Minimum of 1-years experience in a Managerial Role
* Knowledge of CRM systems is preferred
* Minimum of 2 years experience in a hotel Reception/Front desk role
* Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a team of people
