Assistant Payroll Manager


Salary is up to GBP28,000

A company who are relocating to Watford are looking for a Assistant Payroll Manager to join their friendly and busy small team. This is a permanent role and will report into the Payroll Manager. The company has a fantastic team culture and are growing rapidly and the successful candidate will be keen to get stuck in and be a self motivated team player who picks things up quickly with a positive 'can do' attitude.

Duties for the Assistant Payroll Manager:

Manage the payroll from start to finish (including manual calculation of SMP, SSP and other statutory payments)

Ensure compliance to Payroll procedures prior to completion of payroll on a weekly basis
Month end payroll checking and reconciliation
Reconciliation of HMRC payments
Maintain and enhance payroll controls and processes
Lead the completion of year end payroll processes (P60's, P11d's etc.)
Ensure compliance with HMRC, Pension providers and other third party requirements
Assist with management of small team
Ensure good level of Customer Service
Support Payroll Manager with ad-hoc duties and reports as requested

To be considered successful, the ideal candidate must:

Have proven background in senior level Payroll provision (start to finish, manual calculations, and statutory deductions and be able to work to weekly deadlines for a large volume of payrolls)
Have excellent communication skills
Have strong excel skills
Have strong interpersonal skills
Be able to work in a team
Knowledge of enterprise is desirableThis Assistant Payroll Manager role is based in Watford and the salary is up to GBP28,000.
