We are an ambitious and well-established housing group with deep roots in our three heartland areas of Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington.

One of the largest landlords in the North West, we have 1,500 staff, manage more than 37,000 homes, support around than 64,000 customers and invest at least £5m a year into local communities and life changing causes.

A social organisation with a commercial focus generating income to drive our activities and deliver lasting change, Torus is at once landlord, property developer, commercial contractor and social entrepreneur.

Our commercial arm, HMS, has established an enviable reputation as an award-winning building and maintenance contractor for housing, health and education. Moreover, 100% of the profits generated by HMS are invested directly to fund initiatives that make a positive difference to our communities and the lives of the people who live in them.

Our Seasonal teams start on 15 March 2021 until the end of October 2021 and work in small teams predominantly covering the St Helens and Warrington areas.

This is an important role in which you will:

  • Work as part of a team in delivering a wide range of high-quality landscape maintenance and improvement works such as grass cutting and shrub work

  • Ensure all machinery, tools and equipment are maintained in good and safe working order

  • Ensure all work sites are maintained to a high safety standard for staff and the general public

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have experience of landscape maintenance and experience of working in public areas

  • Have experience of operating horticultural machinery such as hedge-cutters, strimmers, ride on and/or pedestrian mowers along with a strong understanding of how to operate machinery safely

  • Have a good understanding of Health and Safety, experience of following Risk Assessments and being vigilant to potential hazards whilst conducting works on site, in order to keep the site safe for staff and public

Great Torus people share qualities we value highly. They are problem-solvers, able to work well within our team. They are open, honest and committed to doing the right thing at all times, and they always look for ways to do things better, focused on making sure we achieve our aims. If you can share our way of working, you’ll enjoy working with us.

In return, we offer a modern workplace that is challenging, supportive and gives you room to grow your skills – along with a package of benefits that shows how much we value your contribution and care about your wellbeing.
