Specialist Trainer – Nurse Education
Salary: Equivalent to Agenda for change Band 6
Location: University Centre Somerset (Taunton)
We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated Nurse to join our Higher Education team in Taunton to manage the delivery and ongoing development of our Nursing Associate Higher Apprenticeship programme. This is a leadership role within the clinical teaching team as we embark on full roll-out of this NMC approved programme in partnership with the University of the West of England.
Nursing Associates are employed across the evolving integrated care system in Somerset and this role involves working closely with NHS Trusts in the county, as well as primary and social care organisations. The postholder will play a vital role in developing robust, highly skilled Nursing Associates who understand the patient journey across the lifespan.
Responsibilities will focus on course leadership, teaching, assessment and support for trainee Nursing Associate apprentices, in both the education and practice setting. We are looking to appoint a Registered Nurse with contemporary experience in education and/or acute, urgent care or community care practice experience. The Nursing Associate is not based within any particular field of nursing and as such applications are welcome from those in any field.
Prospective candidates are required to hold a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council on Part 1 of the register, hold a teaching qualification at level 6 or above or be willing to work towards one.
In return we offer a competitive salary and holiday entitlement (including Christmas shutdown), standardised working pattern, laptop and mobile phone, plus access to participate in research and ongoing continuous professional development.
