The Assessor will be the primary point of contact to provide support to learners in the timely completion of their work based and apprenticeship qualifications. The post holder will assess and teach learners in their place of work and carry out in-house training as appropriate. The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post. The particular duties and responsibilities attached to posts may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed. The post holder must comply with and implement relevant health, safety, security and welfare processes as required by the relevant statutory or organisations procedures. The job entails managing, coordinating with managerial staff and employers, deal with all learner files, working with internal and external teams, planning, or overseeing the facilities operations. You must be dependable, truthful, motivated and dedicated to ensure the smooth running of the organisational needs, including assisting in the recording, controlling and administration of data.
SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Assessor will:
Support learners to progress and complete there Apprenticeship Standard/framework
•Give advice and support to learners in the selection of units to be assessed of all awarding bodies' criteria and to complete an individual learning and assessment plan.
•Assist with inductions, Basic Skills Assessments, online exams and carry out reviews of all learners' progress.
•Assess, teach and support learners undertaking their qualifications.
•Carry out assessment of Technical Certificates, Key Skills/Functional Skills/Diplomas & Employment Rights and Responsibilities/PLTS
•Support and guide learners appropriately through their apprenticeship programmes and to provide feedback as to whether learners are competent within the requirement sector.
•Assess the competence of learners in the workplace and to liaise with the appropriate supervisor/manager/employer.
•Maintaining accurate records of learners' files and other record keeping.
•Chase up learners on progression and calling for non-attendance when necessary.
•Comply with the quality assurance standards of the awarding body and Independent Training and funding partners.
•Ensure all centre and funding documentation is maintained adequately and accurately in liaison with the Centre Administrators and Centre Manager.
•Monitor the learner's progress every 6 weeks as a minimum, in line with the Review Policy and funding regulations.
•Answer any queries learners may have about their employment, course work and their general well-being. Assist them with any help e.g. filling out applications forms, creating CV's (where applicable).
•Adopt a proactive approach to complying with the staff development policy in ensuring you are up to date in your occupational area(s) and adopt a best practice approach to training and learning.
•Ensure every learner's achievement and success is timely and liaise with the Internal Quality Assurer (IQA), to claim unit and full achievement.
•Meet and liaise with the IQA and Course Leader/s as required.
•Attend 3 standardisation/quality assurance meetings per year as a minimum and be available for Standards Verifier visits as required.
•Produce an end of month report on any up-dates or concerns regarding the programmes.
•Back-up electronic files using proper procedures, entering and updating data on the shared drive (Training, Pass/Fail and learners details etc.)
•Support the Centre Manager in the promotion of the activities of Independent Training.
•Participate in continuous improvement activities such as Independent Training, Centre Policy Reviews, Self-assessment and Development Planning.
•Ensure and implement Centre policies and procedures, supporting learners and assessors appropriately:
•Ensure Equal Opportunities data is collected and collated.
•Ensure training and learning sessions are evaluated and collated.
•Ensure all incidents are recorded and reported including those relating toHealth and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality, Whistle-blowing
