Aviva have an opportunity for a Construction Risk Consultant to join our ARMS (Aviva Risk Management Solutions) specialist division - that provides risk management services to Aviva and clients.We're growing and looking for support our Construction Underwriting Team. The team (Renewables & Construction) supports the Construction Underwriting team by providing technical support carrying out site surveys in the UK and overseas and representing Aviva with brokers, clients and Insurance forums.The current team of Risk Consultants and Technical Account Managers are all home-based workers with regular meetings in LondonWe believe this is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving and established team, with the opportunity to influence and grow with the backing of Aviva's resources and reputation.The role's duties & responsibilities:Providing our Construction Underwriters in Global Corporate Specialty (GCS) and SME with high quality loss avoidance/mitigation measuresDeveloping, managing and completing survey programmes and production of bespoke quality market reports and risk improvementsConsulting credibly with business partners (including at Board level) in a face to face environment.Developing key internal stakeholder and an external network of relationships to ensure people understand the GCS risk management business and ensure the best service is deliveredEnsuring the governance framework is adhered to ensure Risk complianceSupporting initiatives for service and operational improvements by acting on feedback from customers - sharing ideas with peers and engaging team to fully work through optionsAbility to analyse, collate and interpret underwriting information to ensure pro-active risk management decisions are madeSkills & experiences required: Civil Engineer, geologist engineer or equivalentExperience in the construction industryKnowledge of construction methods and international construction standards for construction risks across a wide range of sectorsHighly developed presentation and customer engagement skillsEducated to degree level in Civil Engineering, Geology, Mining EngineeringChartered or Incorporated Engineer or working towards chartershipActive member of a construction or insurance industry such as ICE, BTS, IOM3.Previous experience in insurance industry (risk engineering) would be an advantageWhat will you get for this role?A competitive salary depending on location, skills, experience and qualificationsGenerous defined contribution pension schemeAnnual performance related bonus and pay reviewHoliday allowance of 29 days plus bank holidays and the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional daysUp to 40% discount for some Aviva products through "My Aviva Extras" plus discounts for Friends and Family (some exclusions apply)Excellent range of flexible benefits to include a matching share save schemeWorking at AvivaAt Aviva, we're people with a purpose.
