Arrears Advisor (Rent / Income Collection)

We are seeking Arrears Advisors to work within our newly restructured and high performing Rents Income Service.   

 

You will proactively manage arrears casework, taking prompt and appropriate action to recover current rent and licence arrears, supporting the delivery of a high quality  income collection service, maximising income collection for THH.   

 

You will be required to identify, at point of contact, residents with vulnerabilities offering expert advice, signposting for referrals and on-going support in order to minimise financial hardship experienced by residents and to sustain tenancies.

 

About You

  • We are looking for enthusiastic people with very good communication skills and with a comprehensive understanding of income collection in a social housing environment.

  • You will have the ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes for residents.

  • Experience of undertaking front line rent accounts activities.

  • Ability to deal with sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.

  • Experience of working in a challenging collections environment.

  • Experience of working in a performance driven environment.

  • Experience of working in a customer-focused environment.

  • Experience of making applications and issuing proceedings in the County Court.

  • Experience of using rent accounting systems Northgate, Comino Microsoft Office® products, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Must have good numerical skills.
