Your new company
We are a new public body formed out of 9 government organisations who are committed to ensuring the United Kingdom stays at the forefront of global innovation in the fields of science and technology. As part of an expansive digital transformation programme and heavy investment in technology we now seek to appoint a DevOps Engineer to enable advanced, Agile application delivery to UK's scientists and innovators.

Your new role
You will deploy and integrate state-of-the-art applications into our impressive technical infrastructure, ensuring applications are compatible, resilient and fit for purpose. You'll be responsible for leading DevOps solutions within the group, acting as a vital link between our development and infrastructure teams to ensure there is continuous deployment and integration (CI/CD). You will demonstrate a passion to fully understand both the technical aspects of current solutions, and how to identify new enhancements, making our software development and release process faster and more robust.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll bring exposure learned in either small or large technical estates. Critical to your success is your passion for delivering complex applications through innovative methods, such as automating continual deployment and integration. Linux Red Hat or CentOS experience will be fully utilised throughout your day, as will technical knowledge of Middleware products and the ability to script in Java, Python or Ruby. Any exposure to cloud technology, ideally AWS will help you as you assist developers and application owners in their journey towards fully utilising Cloud technology.
