We have an opportunity at our Grimsby LYOCELL Fibre continuous operation factory for a Purchasing Specialist
Key responsibilities of this role
- Develop and execute local purchasing strategies, in line with Global Purchasing guidelines and policies
- Assess, manage and mitigate purchasing risks to the Grimsby factory and/or Lenzing Group
- Build excellent internal relationships with key stakeholders to ensure product/service requirements are clearly understood. This will include clearly defined specifications, quality requirements and timescales
- Build excellent relationships with external suppliers; sourcing and assessing new products/vendors and negotiating competitive prices
- Monitor and forecast stock levels, carry out monthly raw material stock checks and manage the storage of consumables in accordance with ISO standards
- Carry out vendor assessments to ensure suppliers conform to standards
- Deputise for Purchasing Manager as required
- To uphold and promote safe working practices in line with company guidance/policies at all times.
Our ideal candidate
- Graduate, ideally working towards or willing to undertake a CIPS qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ purchasing experience, ideally within an Industrial/Chemical Manufacturing environment
- Ability to plan requirements and negotiate supply terms with Vendors.
- Capable of understanding raw material supply considerations.
- Knowledge of stores order and stock control system.
- Knowledge of raw materials and packaging, as well as engineering parts and servicing.
- Professional with excellent interpersonal/communication skills at all levels, internally & externally.
- Excellent planning, organisational, training, teamwork, problem resolution skills.
