An exciting and varied opportunity for a Commercialisation Manager to work within a Southampton Shopping Centre.

This role is a FTC 12 month Maternity cover.

The role is to maximise the commercial success of the shopping centre through identifying, developing and optimising new revenue opportunities while fully exploiting existing revenue streams, safely and in keeping with the business and brand strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Activity:

* Proactively focus on the generation of new business opportunities to generate income for the shopping centre from instigation to implementation.

* Manage sales performance to meet or exceed set targets; cost and income.

* Manage costs to ensure that the target cost to income ratio is met or reduced.

* Ensure that all commercial activities comply with relevant legislation e.g. Fire Regularity Reform Act, Health & Safety at Work Act, GDPR etc.

* Negotiate the terms of each new commercial agreement, internally and with clients, close sales and process contracts.

* Research to gain a clear understanding of clients' businesses and requirements.

* Ensure close liaison with the Operations, Tenant Liaison, Marketing and Technical Services teams to understand operational involvement and requirements for events and activities.

* Build and maintain strong working relationships with new and existing clients.

* Provide clients with sales proposals that are both timely and professional in quality.

* Provide information and input to business planning and strategy development.

* Understand market trends and the likely impact on revenue streams.

* Feed future buying trends back to the business.

* Monitor and analyse financial information, assessing business risks and implementing solutions to address these where necessary.

* Ensure customer satisfaction through monitoring of feedback.

* Attend networking and local business groups to build links and keep up to date on local activities.

* Manage external communications e.g. agencies, brands and suppliers

Person specification

Essential

* Educated to A level standard or equivalent

* H&S qualification IOSH managing Safely or equivalent

* Proven business to business sales experience

* Strong commercial awareness

* Proven experience retail or leisure

* Understanding of marketing and events

* Negotiation skills

* Ability to network

* Excellent communicator at all levels

* Proficient decision maker

Desirable

* Previous experience of developing commercial income in a retail/leisure environment

* Knowledge of corporate responsibility and environmental issues

* Local knowledge
