Project Scope: Assessing and uplifting existing documentation as well as supporting Service Architects, Process Engineers and Operations staff in the development of new documentation and IT service recommendations.

Immediate 3 months initial and extendable contract assignment (long term project) for an experienced Technical Author to work on a large Banking client programme.

The customer has asked my client to undertake a review of their Mobile Platform and associated Product Governance and is seeking to re-design the Service Map (framework and artefacts) to improve their Mobile Platform service. It is expected that the recommended improvements coming out of the review will deliver enhancements in areas such as stability, performance, compliance and the End User experience.

The focus of this assignment will be to work as a Technical Author supporting the review, improvement and creation and of relevant documentation artefacts relating to the change of an end to end service map framework. Being involved in the standardisation of existing and potentially new technology artefacts, undertaking documentation revision and production.

Documentation requirements will include technical standards, information governance, security, compliance and operational process related documentation

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for undertaking the overarching data discovery and follow-on potential development of artefacts in the Enterprise architectural space (Service, Technology, Business etc)
  • Responsible for reviewing, analysing, making recommendations and then being involved in agile sprints to improve all existing, in-scope documentation and artefacts
  • Creation of new, and improved best practice (ITIL, TOGAF, COBIT etc.) documentation and technical artefacts
  • Manage iterative ratification and sign-off of artefacts through Program governance processes
  • Where required, enhance standard documentation processes ie change/version control, review and approval etc.
  • Work in a highly collaborative manner across the client organization global IT team and will be expected to join a small team of consultants who are already engaged and commencing the review
  • Focus on the above and then at the sharp end of standardisation of existing and potentially new technology artefact revision/production

Experience/skills requirements:

  • The technical Author must have relevant experience in a Global banking environment
  • You must have extensive experience of delivering technical documentation as part of major change programmes
  • You must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role specifically within IT infrastructure and Mobile Platform technologies and related operational, technical and service processes
  • You must have a strong appreciation of ITIL and Experience in end-to-end IT organisational design
  • Good understanding of the overarching discovery and potential development in the Enterprise architectural space (Service, Technology, Business etc.) and equally how technology (including Security, Data and IG) link together.
  • Extensive experience operating in ITIL focused technical eco-systems
  • An appreciation of Security, Compliance and Risk considerations as they relate to solution design, implementation and operation within global organizations
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work proactively across senior management and technical stakeholders to obtain access to information to enable documentation creation and delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Strong familiarity with infrastructure technology
  • University degree or college diploma in a relevant field
