A Cloud Database Administrator/DBA is required for a growing client, a Technical Solution provider. Working with third party clients the Cloud Database Administrator /DBA will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects and with a range of Tools and Technologies. You will be working to ensure the production of a Cloud based system which will run 24/7. The successful Cloud Database Administrator /DBA will have a range of skills and some exposure to DevOps Tools and environment. This is a great opportunity for a DBA looking to grow their skill and move into a more cloud focused role.

This DBA role will including working on client sites and will offer some working from home options when you are not required to be on client sites. Due to the nature of work, candidates will require SC Clearance, or be eligible for SC Clearance. The criteria for SC clearance is: You would have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years, not been outside the UK For a period of 3 months or longer in the last 5 years and have no criminal convictions.

The role and responsibilities of Cloud Database Administrator/DBA:

• Responsible for the reliability and performance aspects of multiple AWS Production and Non-Production databases
• Supporting critical applications
• Work on observability of relevant database metrics
• Provide database expertise to engineering teams
• Automation of database platform
• Identify parts of the data platforms that do not scale, and provide resolutions
• Drive root cause analysis of incidents

Skills and experience of the Cloud Database Administrator/DBA:

• AWS cloud computing best practices
• MPP/OLTP database platforms design, build and operation
• NoSQL/Non-Relational database platforms
• Designing and implementing High Availability and Disaster Recovery
• Maintaining and monitoring the database platforms
• Performance tuning
• Deployment via CI/CD automation and configuration management
• Database modelling
• Data architectures
