Job Title: Apprentice in Business Administration

Location: Hove

Salary: GBP6.45 per hour / GBP12,409 per annum

Full time, 37 hours per week

Interviews will be held on 9th December 2020.

Our client is looking to recruit a Business Administrator apprentice to work in their Student Services main reception.

Responsibilities

Reception:

Welcome and sign in visitors to the college
Assist students, staff and visitors with their enquiries, using the switchboard to answer internal and external telephone calls promptly, acting as a filter for all enquiries, issues, problems and complaints which pass through Reception, passing on messages as appropriate and relevant
Provide information to students and parents such as college policies and procedures, cross-college events and services, signposting where necessary
Ensure the Reception and Visitor areas are tidy and presentable
Provide accurate and timely information on unplanned staff absences in liaison with HR
Process and log coursework, incidents and thefts, locker keys, student applications and lost and found property
Administration of Car Park spaces, Minibus, mobile phones and taxi bookings
Issue of Car Park permits, keys and diaries
Respond to Parent Donations on behalf of the Principal
Update PowerPoint for Reception screen display
First point of contact for First Aid enquiries
Assist in Main Reception as part of the cover rota during the holidays

Student Services and Guidance (events, mail shots, VLE/Web maintenance)

Providing support with running student events and helping the event run smoothly:

Meeting and greeting students and visitors
Staffing a registration desk
Helping to produce and collate resources
Helping to look after guests at events

Assisting at College events:

Open evenings (potential applicants and their parents)
Taster Days (potential applicants)
Moving On days (applicants)
Meet the Tutor evenings (parents of new students)
Enrolment (new students)
Futures Fair (current students)
Progression Day (current students)
Parent Evenings (parents of current students)
HE Evenings (parents of current students)
Leavers' Event (leaving students)

General role in Student Services and Guidance:

Meeting and greeting visitors, students, parents, staff
Responding to emails in a professional and prompt manner
Proof reading and checking documents
Assisting in sending out mailshots
Data entry
Maintaining a tidy and safe work environment
Photocopying and Printing
Producing and collating various resources
VLE / website maintenance and updating
Appointment bookings for the Guidance and Student Services Team
Guidance related administration including Leavers Process
