Regional Health and Safety Advisor

Salary circa GBP30,000 plus company car and benefits.

Field based covering areas including the West Midlands, East Midlands, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, South Wales.

Due to continued business growth, we are now looking to appoint a new Regional Health and Safety Advisor to strengthen our team.

Reporting into the Head of HSQ you will be responsible for working with the Regional, Area and Store Managers to implement the H&S policy and strategy across the company, providing expert advice across all issues. Devising plans to ensure the company exceeds statutory obligations and risk is adequately managed through a proactive H&S culture. The role predominately involves conducting health and safety audits within 2 regions (approximately 150 stores and growing).

As the Regional Health and Safety Advisor you will be responsible for the following:-

Travelling between stores within your designated regions and conducting risk assessments, training, accident investigations and site audits (including Distribution) as appropriate.
Managing and supporting the creation of practical procedures and safe systems of work.
Assisting and devising plans to continually improve H&S
Promoting best practice
Supporting all levels of management to ensure obligations are met
Ensuring adequate Training and Induction throughout the business in liaison with Training & HR
Providing general advice, guidance and counselling
Following up, liaison and management of requests and visits from authorities such as EHO and Fire Officers.
Liaison with insurance companies to manage risks at store level
Conducting training and workshops as appropriate and determined by the HOD.
Working closely with QA and advising on any non-compliance issues noted within retail.
Being a part of the HACCP team and attend review meetings as determined by the HACCP team leader.
Ensuring every retail store is audited to an agreed format on an annual basis.

What we are looking for:

The successful Regional Health and Safety Advisor will ideally have the following:

Previous experience within a similar role.
Ideally qualified to NEBOSH Certificate level or similar.
Previous experience within a retail background is preferred but not essential.
Self-motivated and highly organised .
