Our client is a leading distributor of fresh produce across the UK. Having been established for multiple years, they are showing rapid growth even during the current climate. Due to this success, they are now seeking Production Cleaners to join their team in Maidstone on a permanent basis.
The Production Cleaners will be responsible for working as part of the Engineering Team and will support the Shift Maintenance Engineer with some preventative maintenance.
The role is predominantly a deep cleaning role which will involve removing guards and barriers under the supervision of the Shift Engineer and cleaning production machinery.
Responsibilities will include:
Ensuring that the cleaning schedule is adhered to, to minimise the uptime of production machinery so far is reasonably practicable.
To carry out preventative maintenance as directed by Shift Maintenance Engineers.
To carry out tasks with due regard to the cleaning specification and all legislation including Health & Safety and Personal Hygiene.
To ensure correct materials, equipment and methods are always used and equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Report faulty machinery/equipment immediately.
To use every effort to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all departments and colleagues.
Report all accidents and dangerous occurrences and near misses to your Manager.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Good written and spoken English.
Good dexterity and the ability to use basic hand tools.
Must be self-motivated and can work unsupervised.
Must possess a genuine desire to maintain and clean machinery.
COSHH Awareness.
Excellent attention to detail.
