Full Time Contract
We are looking for a Principal Democratic Services Officer based in the Wirral. The role is working 36 hours for a 3-month term, with a possibility of extension.
You will be tasked with leading a team of colleagues in providing effective administrative support to Council Meetings and allocated Committees, including the drafting and publication of agenda's, attendance and minuting of meetings, development of work programmes, implementation of decisions and to manage all associated Committee work.
You will also need to manage the administration of and support members when spending their individual member budgets, and Contribute to ensuring that all legal requirements in relation to the operation of the decision making process, Freedom of Information requirements and Data Protection are met and adhered to.
Essential Qualifications are:
*ICSA, B.Tec Higher National, DMS, ADSO or equivalent qualification.
* English Language to "A" Level standard or equivalent.
* Mathematics at GCSE level A to C grade or equivalent.
You will also need a good knowledge and awareness of local current government issues, and experience of local government law and procedures and the role of Members and the conduct of meetings.
