Configuration Management Engineer

Would you like an exciting opportunity to join the F-35 Lightning II program, a leading-edge capability, as it enters into service with the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy? We currently have a vacancy for a Configuration Management Engineer at our site in RAF Marham, Norfolk.

As a Configuration Management Engineer, you will be carrying out designated engineering activities required to support the devices. The role will be key in ensuring maximum incentivised availability is obtained from the devices, delivering the required training outcome for the UK customer.

This role will provide you with the opportunity of working in the Lightning II program, which is a brand new, state of the art 5th generation aircraft, providing a lot of opportunities to work with cutting edge technology within the FastJet / Military air environment. Located within the Integrated Training Centre (ITC), developing and delivering training to Pilots & Engineers prior to the frontline service.

Your main responsibilities as a Configuration Management Engineer will involve:

Configuration Identification and Control, Baseline Management, Configuration Status and Accounting, and Verification and Audit of all Training System hardware and software

Assisting the Training System Support Centre (TSSC)

Leading in the administration and facilitation of the Configuration Review Board, and advise the TSSC

Leading in the Software and Hardware Configuration Impact Analysis of issues and problems at the Configuration Review Board

Provision of software and hardware Configuration Management support to the all configuration items development, installation and upgrade activities at the TSSC and training centre

Provision of software and hardware release activities at the TSSC and support for software deployment activities at the training centre

Preparation and publishing of Configuration Status Accounting reports as needed in the operation of the TSSC and training centre

Conducting verification and validation audits of deployed systems at the training centre

Providing software and hardware Configuration Management training as needed to ITC personnel

Be proficient in applicable portions of the ClearCase/ClearQuest ??? based Training System Problem Reporting (TSPR) System and provide training as necessary to applicable ITC personnel and/or active duty personnel

Assisting personnel of the host unit on all software Configuration Management issues and serve as a wing focal point for resolving software Baseline Management problems

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential Skills:

Proven baseline management experience (we have 1000's of files over 26+ baselines) work experience with multiple file organisation techniques

Proven experience of managing the system installs, updates and the management of the completed signed paperwork. This must be stored correctly within governance regulations and passed on to the relevant stakeholder(s)

Proven experience of working to tight timescales/deadlines and being able to manage multiple work strands simultaneously

Proven experience of effectively communicating with internal/external Stakeholders within a dynamic, fast paced environment

Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Desirable:

Any experience working with ClearCase/ClearQuest ???

Any experience working with ALIS CRM tools

Any experience working within the F35 Fastjet team at RAF Marham
