About the role 

We are now recruiting for a Fire Safety Manager to join our Compliance Team on a full time basis. 

 

You will support the critical work we are doing around health, safety and compliance and provide management and supervision to the Fire Safety Team and the Group to ensure that all requirements relating to fire safety management are effectively delivered and communicated.

 

You will be part of a cohesive and supportive team of building safety professionals in an organisation that values all aspects of property safety.

 

This opportunity will require a qualified fire professional who will have experience in influencing and have strong knowledge of the subject. This is a proactive role and candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a pragmatic attitude and track record of managing Fire Safety. This could be from a property/housing related or similar background but equally consultancy or public sector will be considered also.

 

This position will demand strong leadership, directly managing a team but providing in depth advice and support to key stakeholders, internal and external, as well as influencing and enabling proactively throughout the various business units.

 

Working closely and reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will play a crucial part in the delivery of excellence and so candidates should be able to clearly demonstrate a track record of effective change management and influencing including the ability to build strong relationships across challenging or complex working environments.

 

About you 

It is essential that you have a HNC/D in a Building related subject or qualified by experience along with a Level 4 qualification in fire safety management.

You will have previous experience of experience of managing fire related projects and management of teams along with significant experience of housing related asset management/maintenance, property compliance and fire safety management.

You must be up-to-date with knowledge of fire safety legislation and building regulations and have knowledge of property maintenance and building construction.

You will have the ability to ensure GreenSquare Group gets the right type and level of technical advice and instruction either delivered through the Building Safety and Compliance Team or via third party specialists – for example, Fire Safety Engineers, Designers, Risk Assessors.

For this role, it is essential that you have experience of improving the awareness and understanding of the responsibilities relating to fire safety amongst stakeholders and in doing so, positively influence the behaviours of their teams and improve fire safety management within the business.
