Housing Support Workers - GBP19,448 - GBP21,435 per annum - Diss, Norfolk with travel in South Norfolk and Breckland - 2 Full Time positions (1 Permanent, 1 Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2021 with the prospect of a 12 month extension)
Solo Housing are a well-respected registered charity based in Diss providing supported housing and homelessness prevention services to single people who have experienced homelessness.
Hours: Monday to Friday with some scope for flexible working. You may be required to work some Saturday morning shifts (on a rota basis) at the Old Post Office hostel Diss, with time off in lieu during the week.
Role responsibilities of the Housing Support Workers:
The successful applicants will work with our residents in their homes and out in the community, as well as from home and our offices in Diss. While Coronavirus restrictions remain in place, the role will primarily be based from home. Duties include:
* Providing person led support and housing management services to single adults living in our accommodation
* Interviewing and assessing perspective residents for Solo Housing accommodation
* Providing holistic person led support to help residents to sustain a tenancy and achieve greater independence
* Supporting residents to pursue positive involvement in their communities
* Completing all required paperwork and maintain comprehensive electronic information records on the support plans, tenancy agreements and housing management records
* Collecting rent, service charges and other monies owed to Solo
* Supporting and assisting residents to move in a positive and planned way
* Positively representing Solo Housing in the community
* Participating in an emergency callout rota with the rest of the support team
* Supporting residents to move into more permanent accommodation when they are ready to live more independently
Requirements for the Housing Support Worker:
We are looking for two friendly and proactive individuals with experience of delivering a housing management service. You should have the following:
* A full driving licence and the use of a car for work purposes
* Ability to work in a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people
* Awareness and / or experience of person led support
* Awareness and / or experience of delivering a housing management service
* Ability to effectively maintain comprehensive records and support plans on various IT packages
