Site Operations Manager

Pasquill - Inverness

Job Purpose; To achieve the site's operational and profit target in line with the annual budget. To lead, motivate and develop a team of people, in order to ensure a consistently high level of product quality and to continuously improve the site's productivity and operational performance. To ensure the highest levels of health and safety are maintained at all times.

Previous experience required

Previous experience in a management role

Degree qualified e.g. Production Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering (preferred)

Working knowledge of H&S legislations, quality management systems and environmental legislations (preferred)

Valid UK driving licence

Excellent leadership skills; able to lead, develop, coach and manage people to maximise their performance.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - ability to communicate at all levels in an organisation

Strong problem solving skills

Strong numerical ability with commercial understanding (margin, profit, etc)

Excellent presentation skills - ability to present effectively to senior management

Duties to include
Achieve the required EHS and audit performance as directed by the Operations Director

Act as a role model for Health and Safety; encourage and empower colleagues within the Operations team to take responsibility for EHS at the site

Ensure plant efficiencies / productivity / stock management are all achieved

Manage all site costs including machining overheads, transport and labour costs

Ensure consistent quality of product and service delivery without compromise to safety on site.

Carry out profit analysis of site

Analysis of site costs and the development of action plan to reduce costs

Measure output per man hour and develop and implement an action plan to increase productivity

Ensure all appraisals are conducted at appropriate time and goals set to develop individual and business

Monitor and measure number of NCRs to customer base due to manufacturing quality and delivery performance

The ideal candidate will have the below skills

Strong leadership skills: able to lead, motivate, coach and develop a team

Ideally degree qualified e.g. Production Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering

Proven ability to utilise resources to achieve results

Excellent problem solving skills

Strong numerical ability with commercial understanding (margin, profit, etc)
