Adecco Poole and Bournemouth are delighted to be assisting one of our local clients in their search for an Investigations Officer.
This role is being offer on a 6-month contract.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing active professional support within the Criminal Investigation Department. You will be covering all aspects of the investigation process that do not require formal powers.
Responsibilities
To plan, prepare and conduct interviews with detainees, victims and witnesses according to the Law and Practical Guide to Investigative Interviewing.
Evaluate evidence and information obtained on an ongoing basis.
To take statements as required in accordance with legislation and procedure.
To determine the appropriate course of action in a case and to undertake that action in a thorough and expeditious manner.
Completing relevant documentation in paper and digital format to support the case.
Ensure all evidence, including exhibits, are obtained, examined, and stored in accordance with policy.
To present case files to the Crown Prosecution Service, attend Case Conferences with Crown Prosecutors and Prosecution Counsel in line with Force and National Policy.
Search property, vehicles, premises and land in accordance with relevant legislation, policy, procedures and techniques in support of an investigation
The Ideal Candidate
Demonstrates the ability to make and review decisions after gathering all available information, assessing risks and considering a range of options
Demonstrates the ability to deal with potentially difficult and volatile situations in a professional, calm and innovative way.
Demonstrates the ability to provide a high level of service to the public and to understand and assess individual needs.
Qualified PIP Level 1 Investigator and working towards PIP Level 2.
Demonstrates sound verbal and written communication skills.
