We are seeking a Senior IT Technician to join a long-standing and growing IT Company. The role is predominantly focussed on; response to and resolution of client IT issues, configuration and deployment of new IT solutions to clients and working alongside clients and the internal team to develop the services that best meet client needs.
The Senior IT Technician is responsible for working with the Technical Director to resolve complex support requests within; hardware, software and network systems, as well as to meet customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands and assist in guiding and developing the other members of the team. Responsibilities
* To respond to, analyse, diagnose, and resolve client IT issues, including; responding to, progressing and resolving issues via phone, email & helpdesk
* Ensuring all issues are responded to and/or resolved within SLA parameters
* Maintaining accuracy of helpdesk tickets at all times
* To acquire, set up and install; hardware, software and network products and services, either remotely or on-site
* To provide expert and accurate IT advice to clients
* To ensure a high standard of customer care at all times
* Communicating clearly with clients and users, adapting communication (in particular, technical details)
* Keeping clients' and users' informed in terms of progress with; IT issues, equipment or software supply, as well as projects and other works
* Working to identify any repeat issues or predictable problem patterns, then enforcing resolutions with the team
* To assist with supporting internal systems and services (including website and communications)
Person Specification & Requirements
The successful candidate will have some or all of the following;
* GCSE (Grade C or above) in; Maths, English and Science (or equivalent)
* Microsoft Certified (Fundamentals, Associate, Expert)
* Minimum of three years' experience in an IT Support role
* Administration of common IT processes (user account management, network shares, backup and restore)
* Troubleshooting LAN, WLAN and WAN issues and familiarity with common components (including switches, access points, routers, firewalls, etc)
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS (including server and client operating systems)
* Good working knowledge of one or more common virtualisation platforms
* Good working knowledge of common client and server hardware platforms
* Good working knowledge of MD productivity and cloud services (including AD, Microsoft 365 and O365, Exchange Online, Azure, etc)
* Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting
* Knowledge of cyber security principles and common solutions
* Solid communication skills, in particular maintaining professionalism with clients (on the phone, in writing and in person)
* Ability to deal competently and confidently with IT issues as they arise
* To work effectively in an autonomous working environment
* Methodical, logical and organised problem-solving approach
* Ability to drive and possession of a valid driving licence
* Willingness to travel to undertake on-site support activities (generally within East Devon)
