Business Law Legal Secretary / PA

Guildford, Surrey

Up to GBP28,000 DOE

A highly regarded and top tier legal practice are seeking a motivated Legal Secretary / PA to join their reputable Business and Commercial Law team in their Guildford office. The team acts for a range of clients from owner managed businesses to large national and multi-national companies in a variety of sectors including manufacturing, retail, logistics and IT.

Areas of focus will include:

* Buying and selling businesses

* Joint ventures

* Distribution

* Agency and franchise agreements

* Intellectual property

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

* Taking instructions and progressing the files under the solicitor's instructions

* Assisting the team with larger scale, complex transactions in a secretarial nature

* Attending to clients of the firm

* Drafting a wide range of legal documentation such as shareholder agreements, business structure, business protection and business sales and purchases from dictation

* Making amendments to Articles of Association

* Assisting with all aspects of post completion matters including title registration and SDLT (Stamp Duty Land Tax) returns

* Preparing AP1 forms and dealing with registrations

* Maintaining a professional and polite demeanour at all times

* All general administration duties including, photocopying, scanning and organising the post

* Diary management for fee earners

Desired skills:

* Legal secretarial experience of at least 2 years is essential

* Due to the nature of the responsibilities in this role, it is essential that you have working experience of the Commercial Property transaction

* Experience of working with companies house and the land registry

* Fast and accurate typing speeds

* Be able to use a case management and digital dictation system efficiently

* Client focused

* Good knowledge of relevant computer programmes e.g. MS Office and online time recording
