They achieve this by really understanding how the business works and converting that knowledge into effective measures, controls, reports and advice.

What will the role of Accounts Assistant involve?

  • Purchase Ledger – processing invoices, preparing payment runs and reconciling supplier statements. You will strive to ensure that invoices are posted accurately and on a timely basis whilst playing an important role in resolving issues.
  • Month End process – you will provide support during the month-end process, reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating differences.
  • Cash and expenses – you will take full ownership of petty cash including foreign cash and provide support for posting bank items. You will process staff expense claims ensuring that they are appropriate and correctly categorised.
  • Costing – assisting the Costing Accountant in the calculation of own production standard cost prices ensuring accuracy to allow the business to make informed decisions and providing support in the analysis of variances between actual and standard costs.
  • Systems and controls – you will contribute to the on-going development and improvement of our systems, controls and processes.
  • Ad hoc tasks – you will perform other tasks within the Finance department where required including cross-training to provide cover within the department.
