Our client is recruiting for a Practice Manager to manage and lead a small and successful team
Job Role
- Ensure the efficient day-to-day management of the practice
Personnel
- Take line management responsibility for receptionists including responsibility for motivation, objective setting and appraisal
- Arrange for and undertake the recruitment and selection of permanent and temporary staff
- Arrange staff induction and training
- Organise disciplinary and grievance arrangements
- Keep and monitor staff records particularly with regard to sickness absence and annual leave
- Keep the practice’s contracts of employment up to date
- Coordinate arrangements for appraisal
- Organise, attend and participate in practice meetings
Finance
- Take responsibility for and supervise all banking procedures, including deposits, payments and checking bank statements
- Take responsibility for and supervise activity returns and receipts, checking monthly schedules
- Arrange the payment of all staff and associates
- Ensure the operation of the payment policy and the collection of outstanding debts
- Check invoices and prepare payment cheques for signature
Patients
- Ensure the operation of the patient recall system
- Ensure the operation of the practice complaints procedure
- Deal with patient queries which cannot be dealt with by other team members
- Keep the practice leaflet and other patient communications up-to-date
Administration
- Keep all practice documentation up-to-date, including policies, procedures and handbooks
- Take responsibility of CQC procedures and documents
- Ensure the maintenance of the practice computer system
- Produce and implement the practice marketing plan
- Deal with practice mail, in conjunction with the practice owner
- Equipment and health and safety
- Liaise with sales and suppliers’ representatives as necessary
- Ensure that there is a efficient stock control and supply procedures
- Ensure practice compliance with health and safety requirements
- Ensure that practice equipment is serviced and maintained
Other duties
- Other duties as necessary for the efficient operation of the practice
- Arrange and attend refresher and update training for medical emergencies and CPR
- Work at other practice locations from time to time as required
