Our client is an outstanding local employer who are seeking a Textile Technologist / Quality Controller to join their already successful team.
Main Purpose of Role:
- To work with internal Design, Production and Sales teams to ensure our products are delivered in to the UK from overseas suppliers to correct specification, colour and fabric performance.
Key Tasks & Accountabilities:
- To provide technical advice on fabric / product specifications and wash performance when liaising with internal departments, suppliers and customers.
- To evaluate and report on fabric and product submissions for quality, weave, colour, print, stitch and presentation.
- To evaluate and control customer pre-shipment submission and approval process.
- To arrange, monitor, submit and maintain fabric and product test reports.
- To administer and maintain fabric and product specification documents for issue to our overseas suppliers and customers where required.
- To liaise, as required, with our overseas suppliers on all aspects of product specification, quality and presentation matters.
- To gain a clear understanding of fabric print layouts, lay plans and utilisation, leading to an ability to create ratings spreadsheets showing fabric usages for our products.
- To control and administer a comprehensive, detailed archive facility of all sample submissions over a 3+ year history.
- To provide support, back-up and holiday cover to Quality Supervisor, Production Controller and Quality Manager as required.

IT and Personal skills Essential
- Excellent Microsoft suite, Adobe and Photoshop
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
