You will be responsible for maintaining and building relationships with suppliers whilst accurately monitoring all supplier costs, data and the approved supplier list. You will be involved in the recruitment of new suppliers and the monitoring of supplier performance.

The role will involve you learning different aspects of the purchasing department with a chance for progression as the Company continues to grow.

You will use best practices to improve processes and policies in support of the Company goal.

You will co-ordinate and monitor the work of manufacturing and site materials control. You will manage the quality of suppliers.

Your role will include other administrative duties which will see you involved in the Quality System, Health and Safety, Stock control, Work in Progress, etc.

In all, this role is varied in its scope and will offer the successful candidate a great experience of working in a procurement and operations role.

Critical thinking and problem solving; planning & organising; decision making; communication skills; persuasiveness; influencing; delegation; team work; negotiation; conflict management; stress tolerance

Education and training:

·Minimum of A level qualification

·Some industry relevant experience or experience of working in a fast paced office environment

As a Rail Team Assistant you will receive hands-on experience of working in a busy rail team. • Communicate correct information on rail products and services to the sales and customer services teams
• Assist all teams in the business with questions and queries about rail products and services
• Liaise with other teams in the business to ensure a seamless tour experience for customers
• Provide reliable, timely and accurate rail timings, seating information documents, rail amendments or problems to the Tour Manager’s, Product Services, Customer Services and sales teams where relevant
• Create, maintain and develop relationships with Eurostar
• Work with the suppliers to ensure the special requests and amendments to rail bookings at the request of the customer are fulfilled and ensuring all variations are communicated to the relevant work colleague
• Support the Rail Team supervisor in the operating and scheduling of rail transport
• Liaise with the Customer Relations team to obtain feedback from customers and Tour Managers regarding rail issues and discuss with the Rail Team supervisor an action plan to resolve any issues.

The successful Rail Team Assistant should have experience of working in a customer service focused environment, in addition to the following skills and experience:

• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Clear and concise approach in giving verbal and written communication
• Experience of working in a busy telephone environment in relation to inbound and outbound call handling
• Can deliver to deadlines and targets whilst under pressure whilst exhibiting excellent attention to detail
• Good general education and knowledge of Microsoft software packages
• A methodical and organised approach to work, both individually and as part of a team
• A working knowledge of European Rail Networks would be an advantage
